Film, fashion, gastronomy and music - every year Copenhagen offers loads of festivals to suit all interests. In 2013 there will be particular focus on one event when the Eurovision Song Contest comes to the Swedish city of Malmø, just a few kilometres from Copenhagen.

Regardless of which month you visit, there is always some kind of cultural event or festival happening in Copenhagen. The city's vibrant cultural scene is one of its hallmarks and, in 2013, there are numerous exciting events to look forward to:
The winter festival, Wondercool, will be held in February 2013 for the third time. Visitors will be able to experience a wide range of cultural events in the fields of food, architecture, design, music and fashion but, there are also dedicated festivals within each of these genres. For instance, Copenhagen is the home of the Nordic region's largest food festival, Copenhagen Cooking. August will see the ninth Copenhagen Cooking festival offering masses of gastronomic experiences throughout the city, and underlining Copenhagen's position as the region'sgastronomical capital. Last year, Copenhagen Cooking attracted a record number of visitors - over 100,000 guests.
July sees the capital's streets come to life with live jazz performances, as the Copenhagen Jazz Festival takes over the city. The festival is one of Europe's most prestigious jazz events, and one of Denmark's most important musical happenings.
With the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest being held just across the water in Malmø on May 14-18, Copenhagen will be infected by an even larger dose of Eurovision fever than usual. The stage is set for parties and celebrations in the streets of Copenhagen as our neighbours to the north host this major international singing competition.
Copenhagen has also distinguished itself in recent years as the host of numerous high profile film festivals, including CPH:PIX and CPH:DOX, held every April and November respectively. The festivals showcase the best art house and documentary films from around the world, and CPH:DOX is now the largest documentary festival in Scandinavia.
The new year brings a wealth of exciting festivals, exhibitions and events to look forward to in the Danish capital. Keep up to date with what 2013 has to offer at www.visitcopenhagen.com
